Howard Hodgkin's portraits.




The evolution of the lenguage of portraiture inside Hodgkin's work is revealed in this exhibition containing paintings and drawings from all the stages of his career.

We can observe in this show how some of the artistic movements of his time (Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art...) influenced in his work.

Excluding his more conventional early portraits, Hodgkin's portraits were abstract paintings in which the importance of memory and gesture in the artistic production are revealed.
